Making Sure Your Entertainer has Public Liability Insurance (PLI)
It probably isn't the first thing you'd think to check when hiring a children's entertainer.. That's why UK-Entertainers now highlights which of our advertisers have supplied evidence of their PLI cover.
It's in your interest to ensure your entertainer carries Public Liability Insurance. If he / she is negligent and damages your property, injures someone, or in the very worst case, causes death, you'll be able to make a claim for your losses and, as an insured professional, will stand a better chance of receiving compensation.
Public Liability Insurance for entertainers is not expensive. A £1 million PLI policy can be arranged for well under £100, easily within the budget of any professional. Basic PLI cover usually gives £1 million of cover, but policies are also available with up to £10 million + of cover.
Many hotels, corporate and council owned venues now insist that entertainers carry liability insurance. If hiring a venue, check your small print!

Our PLI Logo
When using our directory, look out for our PLI logo. It tells you we've seen evidence of the entertainer's PLI documentation and that it's up-to-date.
It's in your interest to hire an entertainer with PLI cover. Don't just take their word for it... Ask for the evidence. Please Note: We make every effort to ensure our PLI verification service is accurate and up-to-date. This should however only be used as a guide and we strongly recommend you carry out your own checks. UK-Entertainers / I.T.
