Making sure your entertainer is CRB checked
UK-Entertainers now highlights the entertainers within our directory that have supplied satisfactory evidence of an up-to-date Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
These days, anyone who has regular contact with children (teachers, classroom assistants etc.) must have a CRB (or Disclosure Scotland) check. This is used to help identify if the individual is unsuitable to work with children or other vulnerable members of society.
Although a CRB check is not a compulsory requirement for a self employed entertainer, most local authorities and schools now insist entertainers supply the relevant documentation before they are hired.
UK-Entertainers is committed to helping you make an informed decision about the Children’s Entertainer you book and now offers advertisers within our directory the opportunity to supply the evidence of their CRB checks.
When using our directory, look out for the CRB icon next to individual listings – this means that we’ve seen recent, satisfactory evidence of their check.
Whilst we offer this service as a guide, we would always recommend you ask any entertainer to supply proof of their CRB check in the form of the original documentation.
